Seeing how BBQ joints in my city went from hole-in-the-wall spots to fancy places

I miss when you could just walk in and smell smoke for days. Now everything feels too clean and overpriced.

Watched the same thing happen to coffee shops and dive bars. Everything gets polished until it feels a bit bland now.

Totally feel you on that. Remember when BBQ places had sticky floors and that amazing smoky smell in your clothes for hours? Now they all look like someone's fancy kitchen, right? What happened to the soul in these spots? It's like every old joint gets a makeover and loses its heart. Makes you wonder if clean walls are worth losing the real experience.
