That stat about 40% of barber school grads quitting in 2 years hit me hard
I was killing time between clients last Tuesday and pulled up the Barber Board report from 2023. It says about 4 in 10 new barbers hang up their clippers within 24 months of getting licensed. I got my license 14 months ago in Tacoma and that number made my stomach drop. I love this job but some weeks the chair time and the slow days make me wonder. For the guys who have been cutting 5+ years, what kept you in it past that 2 year mark?
