Had a kid squirm right as I was lining up his neckline in my chair last week

I just stopped, put my clippers down, and asked him about his favorite video game for a minute, and he settled right down. What's your go-to move when a client just won't stay still?

My old barber taught me to ask about their shoes. It gets them looking down and thinking, which usually stops the fidgeting. That trick has saved me from a few bad lines over the years.

My barber just asks me to stop moving, which works because I'm too busy feeling judged.
