My basil started flowering after I read a random fact on a seed packet
It said pinching off the flowers makes the leaves taste better, which I tried last week. Has anyone else found a small tip that actually made a big difference?

Wait, is that really a thing? I just let mine flower because it looks nice. Honestly, can most people even taste a difference? It feels like one of those garden rules that gets passed around more than it actually matters.

Hold on, you let your basil flower? That's like letting your lettuce turn into a tall stalk. Once it flowers, the leaves get small and taste bitter, like chewing on a green penny. My last plant bolted and the pesto I made was practically inedible. You really have to pinch those buds off the second you see them.
