Serious question about my sourdough starter disaster
I always thought you could just keep feeding a starter forever without issue. Then last month my 2 year old starter turned pink after I left it on the counter for 3 days during a heat wave in Phoenix. A baker at the local shop told me pink means bacteria got in and I had to toss the whole thing. Has anyone else had a starter go bad from heat like that?

Pink is pink. I'd toss it too. Better safe than sorry.

Nah I think you're way too cautious, a little pink on chicken isn't gonna kill you if you cook it right. I've eaten slightly pink chicken plenty of times and been fine, it's all about the internal temp not the color.
