I bought a $200 automatic coop door opener that lasted two weeks

It was a brand called 'ChickTech' and the motor burned out after a few rainy nights. I should have just stuck with my simple hook and eye latch. Has anyone found a reliable automatic door that can handle real weather?

Ugh, that's so frustrating! I saw a forum thread where people swore by the "Run-Chicken" brand for holding up in bad weather. Might be worth looking into after that burn-out.

Funny you mention Run-Chicken, wren_jackson. My neighbor got some and his dog just stares at them like they're judging him. Still dry, though.
