Used to skip checking ground connections during preflight. Figured avionics either worked or they didn't. Reading about a single strap frying a whole system is a solid reminder that electricity needs a proper path out. Gonna add a wiggle test to those wires from now on.

Remember thinking the same thing about ground wires being a formality. My old truck's radio taught me otherwise when a loose ground made it sound like a demonic choir. That hum was a cheap lesson compared to what a plane could teach you.
