Broke a lug stud on my Corolla in the O'Reilly parking lot and had to figure it out fast
Was doing front brakes on my 2011 Corolla in the lot off Highway 6 and torqued one lug nut way too hard with my breaker bar, snapped the stud clean off. I had no spare stud and the store didn't stock one for my model, so I ended up driving home on 4 lugs and ordering a Dorman 610-337 online for like 9 bucks. Got it pressed in with a stack of washers and an old nut the next weekend, but man that was a sweaty drive home. Anyone got a trick for getting a stuck lug stud out without pulling the whole hub?
Man, driving home on 4 lugs is wild, I would've been white knuckling the whole way. Nine bucks for a stud is nothing compared to what that tow would've cost though. Curious how the washer trick held up for you, I've heard it can be a pain on these.
