Watched a dispatcher in Dallas re-quote a Houston to Denver run 3 times in one call
The first number was $780, then a "fuel adjustment" pushed it to $910, and by the time he hung up it was $1,050, all while the guy on the other end just sat there agreeing to each new price, so how many of you are seeing quotes climb mid-conversation like this?

I had a guy pull that on me out of Fort Worth last month, started at $640 for a Dallas to Amarillo run and ended at $880 after he threw in "wait time" and some BS about a lift gate fee. I stopped him right there and said the price we agreed on is the price, and if he needs to add stuff we start the whole thing over from scratch. He dropped the extra fees real quick once he knew I wasnt gonna just sit there and nod like that poor guy in your story. Now I always ask for the full breakdown up front, fuel included, before I even give them my load details.
