I figured those online auto transport quote sites were all just lead farms, then one actually came through
Back when I was trying to get my dad's old F-150 from Ohio down to Georgia, I filled out one of those quote forms on a whim and braced myself for 40 calls a day. For the first week it was exactly that, pushy brokers calling at 7am trying to lock me in before I could even compare anything. Then a dispatcher named Rhonda called, said she'd been doing this 19 years, and quoted me $850 with a pickup window I could actually plan around instead of the usual "sometime next month" runaround. She sent over the carrier's DOT number and insurance info without me even asking, which nobody else had done. Has anyone else had one of those quote sites actually connect them with a real human who knows what they're doing?

It's honestly the same play everywhere now. You sign up for one free thing and suddenly your inbox is full of junk from companies you never heard of. Same with loyalty cards at stores, same with those quiz apps, same with pretty much any site that doesn't charge you money. If the thing is free, you're the product, that's just how it works now. @parker_patel84 is right to be suspicious because that info gets bundled and sold to data brokers like it's nothing. People think it's just spam emails but it can mess with your credit offers and insurance quotes too.
