Used a heat gun on a plastic bumper and the texture went weird

Had a 2018 Ford Focus bumper with a small dent, so I tried to use my heat gun on low to soften it and push it out. After about 30 seconds, the spot I was working on got this shiny, smooth patch that looks totally different from the factory texture. I guess the heat was still too much for that type of plastic. Has anyone found a good way to fix this kind of texture mismatch without having to re-texture the whole panel?

Yeah, that shiny spot is a real pain. You basically melted the top layer. I've seen guys try to lightly sand the area with a fine grit pad, then hit it with a plastic texture spray from the parts store. It's never a perfect match, but it can help blend it in so it's not so obvious.

That plastic texture spray from wesley761 actually works? I tried it once and it looked way worse.
