A plumber at my mom's house said one thing that made me quit guessing on drain backups
My mom's kitchen sink backed up two Sundays ago and I almost called one of those big franchise places. The plumber who came out, Ray, from a small shop in Decatur, watched me try to snake it myself and said the clog was never the problem, the slope on the pipe under the house was. He showed me where a previous repair left a low spot, so water and grease just sit there. I had been buying enzyme treatments each month for like $14 a bottle and it was pointless. If your sink keeps backing up after you clear it, does anyone here know a good plumber in Atlanta who actually checks the pipe pitch instead of just snaking it?
