Paid $2,200 for new attic insulation in Decatur and my July power bill barely moved
Had a guy come out to my house off Scott Blvd 5 months ago. He said my old stuff was R-11 and blowing in R-38 would cut my bill by 30 percent. Cost me $2,200 and my June bill went from $310 to $287. One neighbor swears the same job on his 1950s ranch cut his bill in half, but I think the duct leaks in my crawl were the real problem all along. Was I dumb to trust the blow-in quote first, or should I have done the ducts before anything else?
