Warning: I looked up how many times a day the average person blinks and the number is wild
So I was reading this random article about eye strain because I stare at my phone too much, and it dropped this fact: the average person blinks about 15 to 20 times a minute. I did the math, that's like over 28,000 times a day. I found myself just sitting there, blinking on purpose, trying to wrap my head around it. My brain could not process that my body does something that many times without me even thinking about it. I spent a good five minutes just watching my cat blink, wondering if she does it that much too. It's one of those things you never think about until you see the actual number and it just seems impossible. Has anyone else stumbled on a normal body fact that made you stop and stare?

Okay but "made you stop and stare" is the whole problem. You get stuck on the big number and it feels huge, but it's not. Blinking is tiny. It takes what, half a second? You're adding up all these tiny moments and acting like it's a big deal. It's just how the machine runs. If you thought about every single thing your body does on autopilot you'd never move. The number is only wild because you're not meant to think about it.
