Pro tip: my $15 luggage scale exposed my whole packing system

I used to cram everything into a 22 inch carry on for every 3 day trip, then a gate agent in Chicago told me my bag felt 50 pounds and made me check it. Turns out the scale said 48 pounds, and the weight was all from toiletries and extra shoes, not clothes. Has anyone else found that weighing your bag once completely changes what you pack?
