PSA: I tested a $50 ground-penetrating radar app on my backyard in Tucson and found a forgotten cistern from the 1920s

I downloaded this cheap radar app hoping to map old foundations before our fence install, but it pinged a solid circular object 4 feet down. Dug into it and hit an intact brick cistern full of old glass bottles and rusted tools. Has anyone else used phone-based radar gear for small-scale digs and gotten a real hit like this?

Damn that's actually wild. I tried one of those apps on a whim in my own backyard and got nothing but buried sprinkler lines and what I'm pretty sure is a cat skeleton. Seriously impressive you actually found something that real.

My buddy Steve tried those apps out on his grandpa's old farm upstate. He spent like three weekends digging up rusted tractor parts and a bunch of old beer cans from the 70s. The only cool thing he found was a half-buried horseshoe, and even that was just bent to hell.
