The day a squirrel tried to claim my climbing rope

Last Thursday in Portland, I was about 30 feet up a big oak when a squirrel started hauling my throw line up the tree. It took my entire 2 ounce weight and about 15 feet of line into its nest before I could stop it. I had to wait 20 minutes for it to lose interest and leave, then carefully retrieve my gear from the pile of leaves. The crew got a good laugh watching me negotiate with a rodent. Has anyone else had wildlife actively sabotage a rigging setup?

Keep a small spray bottle of water handy, squirrels hate that and it won't hurt them.

The problem is they get used to it fast. I had one that would just shake off the water and keep digging up my bulbs. You have to move the bottle around and change your routine, or they learn it's just a minor annoyance.
