Just lost $120 on a cheap pruning saw from the hardware store
Bought a generic brand at Lowes last spring and the blade bent on the third cut of a 6 inch limb. Anyone else had a budget saw fail on them like that?

Ugh that sucks, nothing worse than a tool failing on the first real job.

The 3/8" drive Harbor Freight ratchet I bought for $12 lasted 2 years of daily use before the pawl broke. My $160 Snap-on ratchet stripped the gear teeth on the third bolt I tried with it. That's the thing nobody talks about when they trash cheap tools. Sometimes the expensive brands have bad batches or design flaws too. I kept the broken HF one as a reminder that price doesn't always mean reliability.
