Heads up on those new plastic water valve clips from the big supply house

I got a box of the new style plastic water inlet valve clips for washers last month. They looked fine, same part number and everything. Put one on a Maytag last week, the homeowner called back two days later with a flood. The clip had snapped clean through where the locking tab meets the body. No over-tightening, I checked. The old metal ones from the same brand never did that. I think they changed the material to save a dime and it can't handle the vibration. I'm going back to sourcing the metal ones, even if I have to dig through old stock. Anyone else run into this with the newer plastic parts?

Man, why does everything good have to turn into junk? I just had the same thing happen on a whirlpool, but I was dumb enough to use two of them before I caught on. Guess I'm paying the stupid tax this week. That brittle plastic feels like a toy compared to the old ones. I'm digging through my own van looking for any leftover metal clips like they're gold.

Maybe it was just a bad batch. I've used a few of those new clips on some dryers and they've held up fine so far. Plastic parts can be hit or miss depending on the run.
