Cleaned out my old toolbox and found a receipt from 2003

I was sorting through my garage and found a faded receipt for a dryer belt and a set of motor brushes. The total was $18.75. I remember driving across town to the only parts store that had them in stock. Now I can order the same parts online and have them at my door in two hours. It made me think about how much easier it is to get things now, but I kind of miss the old parts store chats. What's the biggest change you've seen in getting parts for a job?

Man, I feel this. I spent half a day once looking for a specific carburetor gasket, hitting three different stores. Now I'd just search the part number and have five options in my cart in two minutes. It's way easier, but I'm pretty sure my small talk skills have completely rusted over from lack of practice, lol.

Bro that hits different. I used to know every clerk at the hardware store by name, now I just get a robot asking if I want to subscribe to save 5%. The convenience is insane but man, I miss those random chats about the weather or someone's weird home project. Felt like being part of a neighborhood.
