PSA: Don't waste money on those 'premium' anime streaming box sets

I dropped $80 on a limited edition Blu-ray box set of an anime I liked, thinking it'd be worth it for the extra features. Turned out the 'exclusive' content was just a 5-minute interview I could've found on YouTube for free. The discs also had the same episodes as the standard $30 set with no real upgrade in video quality. Has anyone else gotten burned by these overpriced collector's editions?

my buddy tom actually fell for this with that big mecha anime, i forget the name. he got the like $150 "ultimate edition" and it came in this giant box that was all scratched up. the whole thing was just a cardboard stand that folded out and the discs were in paper sleeves that scratched them too. he had to fight the company for a refund for like 3 months.

Three months for a refund? That's insane. I can't believe they made him wait that long when the product was literally damaged on arrival. The paper sleeves scratching the discs thing is so common too, it's like they didn't even test the packaging before shipping it out. I'd be so mad if I dropped $150 on something that showed up looking like it got kicked down a flight of stairs.
