Paid $60 for a Crunchyroll subscription and still got ads
I finally caved and bought a Crunchyroll subscription because I was tired of waiting a week for episodes. Dropped $60 on the yearly plan thinking I’d get ad-free streaming right away. Nope, turns out the basic tier still has ads unless you pay even more for the premium. I felt so burned because I sat through 5 minutes of commercials for the same car insurance ad during my first episode of Dungeon Meshi. Has anyone else dealt with this bait and switch with their anime streaming services?

Way to bury the lede" is right. "Paid $60 for a Crunchyroll subscription and still got ads" - that's wild. I can't believe they charge that much and still serve you commercials. I would be so mad sitting through a car insurance ad during Dungeon Meshi. That anime is too good to be interrupted by that noise.

My wallet and I had a similar fight when I realized I was paying $60 just to watch ads for things I'd never buy. At this point I'm halfway convinced Crunchyroll is just testing how much we actually love anime before we snap. Dungeon Meshi deserves better than being interrupted by a loud insurance jingle, but I guess we're the real monsters for still paying.
