I finally sat through an entire slice-of-life anime after swearing them off for years

For like 5 years I only watched action stuff like Attack on Titan and thought slice-of-life anime were boring and pointless. My friend kept bugging me to watch Super Cub and I rolled my eyes so hard. But I gave it a shot during a slow weekend and by episode 3 I was weirdly hooked on a girl just fixing up a little scooter. Now I'm wondering if I was just being closed minded or if slice-of-life actually requires a specific mood to click. Anyone else have a genre they wrote off and later changed their mind on?

Got obsessed with a baking anime once and now I actually make bread from scratch every Sunday.

Three weeks. That's how long my bread-making phase lasted after watching that croissant episode where they spent 20 minutes just talking about butter temperature. Three Sundays of dense bricks that could have been used as construction materials. My neighbor's dog ate one of my early attempts and looked personally offended. You're either secretly a pastry chef or you found a loophole I never figured out. Either way, I'm genuinely impressed but also a little suspicious.
