Unpopular opinion: a lead at DFW told me my torque stripe method was backwards, and I switched after 8 years

He said I should stripe after final torque, not before, so any creep shows up in the paint instead of hiding under it. Anyone else stripe after, or am I the only one who got this wrong for most of a decade?
