Spent 9 hours tracking a phantom vibration on a 737 yesterday
Honestly, turned out to be a loose ground strap behind the avionics bay that I overlooked for 5 hours because the schematics were from a different mod level. Has anyone else had a simple fix turn into a full shift circus?
Took me right back to a time when I helped a buddy chase an electrical gremlin on an old Cessna 172. We replaced a whole alternator before someone noticed a tiny crack in a wire where it passed through a firewall grommet. It was such a simple fix that we both felt pretty dumb for spending all that time on the big parts first. That's the thing with intermittent stuff too, it always happens when you're least expecting it and on the part you swear you checked three times. @rubybarnes you know the feeling when you finally find it and just want to laugh and cry at the same time. At least you got it sorted and didn't have to pull the whole panel apart like some horror stories I've heard!
