Showerthought: That eco-friendly wheel cleaner turned our tarmac into a slip-n-slide
My crew switched to a new green wheel cleaner last week, supposed to be safer for the environment. We sprayed it on a landing gear during a routine check, and dude, it got super slick out of nowhere. Next thing, a tech almost wiped out just walking by, and we had to cordon off the area like a crime scene. Now we joke that our sustainability push came with free comedy hours, lol. Back to the drawing board on that one.

Come on, how slick could it really get? It's just cleaner runoff. We've all seen a wet hangar floor from a dozen different things, like a spilled drink or a mopped spot. You throw down some absorbent pads, maybe a wet floor sign, and you're fine. Sounds like a minor slip that got turned into a big story.

Seriously, I used to say the same thing about cleaner runoff. Then I saw a guy slip and fall hard because of it. That stuff mixes with oil and becomes like black ice. A wet floor sign does nothing if you're already sliding. Changed my mind real fast.
