I finally tracked down that elusive hydraulic leak on a 737

Took me three full shifts and a bottle of baby powder to find a pin-hole weep on a return line tucked behind the aft equipment bay, anyone else ever chase a leak that turned out to be somewhere completely unexpected?

That "elusive leak" probably took so long because you were looking in the wrong place first.

Oh man, I totally feel you on that. I spent three days looking for a coolant leak on my old car before I realized it was actually a hose clamp under the intake manifold that I had completely ignored because I kept checking the radiator first. It's so frustrating when you're so sure you're looking in the right spot, but the whole time the problem is hiding somewhere totally obvious in hindsight.
