Finally bit the bullet on a good borescope

After putting it off for years, I dropped about $350 on a decent video borescope last month. Used it yesterday on a Cessna 172 that was running a bit rough. Found a tiny piece of carbon stuck under a valve in cylinder three that I never would have seen with my old rigid one. Took maybe ten minutes to clear it out and the engine smoothed right out. That one find basically paid for the tool. What other jobs have you guys used a borescope for that saved a ton of time?

That "paid for the tool" feeling is real. Buddy of mine is a home inspector. He was checking a crawlspace, standard stuff. His cheap scope died, so he borrowed my good one. Poked it up behind a shower wall from the basement. Found a slow leak from the drain pipe that had been rotting the floor joist for years. Seller had to fix it, buyer dodged a nightmare. That scope found a ten thousand dollar problem in two minutes.

Yeah, but @jake_reed, that's the seller's problem, not the buyer's.
