An old mechanic in Wichita made me redo a safety wire job 3 times before he'd sign it off
Back when I was a green A&P working my first annual at a shop outside Wichita, an old timer named Ray watched me twist safety wire on a fuel pump and made me cut it off and start over twice without saying a word. On the third try he finally grunted and said "now your twists are even, that's how the next guy knows you gave a damn," and then he just walked off to lunch. Do any of you still get checked like that by the older guys, or has that kind of thing pretty much dried up?
