My sister said my fries were 'too dry' and I was ready to fight her
So last weekend my sister came over and watched me make my usual frozen french fry batch in the air fryer at 400 degrees for 12 minutes. She took one bite and said they were "too dry, like eating a desert" and suggested I toss them in a little oil before cooking. I got super defensive because I've been doing this exact method for months and honestly thought crispy meant dry. But I tried her method with about a teaspoon of olive oil per 2 cups of fries and shook them in a bowl first. The texture difference was night and day, still crispy but with that soft inside and actually salty flavor that stuck instead of falling off. Now I'm wondering what else I've been doing slightly wrong this whole time. Has anyone else had a family member call out their air fryer habits and end up being right? What other small tweaks made a huge difference for you?
