Just spent 6 hours cleaning a caked-on air fryer basket that could've been done in 20 minutes

I let my basket sit with greasy residue for 3 days and it turned into a rock-hard mess that took scraping, soaking, and even a vinegar boil to finally break loose. Anybody else learn the hard way that you gotta scrub these things right after cooking?

Learned that one the hard way myself. Let it sit overnight once and spent the next morning chipping away at it with a butter knife. Never again, soon as it cools down enough to touch it's straight in the sink.

So does cold water actually help loosen it, or is it more about just catching it before it hardens?
