Rant: That AI writing assistant I loved was making me sound like a robot

Last month I got feedback from a client on a project description I wrote. She said it read like a Wikipedia article, all smooth and boring. I was using an AI tool to reword my drafts and it was stripping out all my personality. So I stopped using it for anything personal or creative, only for boring emails now. Has anyone else had a tool make their work feel too polished or flat?

@charlie269 I actually disagree a bit lol. Reading it out loud wont fix it if the tool already stripped your voice before you got there. The whole problem is it sanded down the edges so it sounds like ChatGPT wrote it instead of you.

Did you try reading it out loud first before running it through the tool? That helped me keep my voice.
