Warning: I saw a crew in my town using a standard shop vac for creosote cleanup yesterday.

That Nilfisk Attix is a solid choice. I burned through two cheap vacs in a single season before I wised up. The real killer is that fine powder gets past every filter and just grinds the bearings to dust. Now I won't touch a chimney job without a vac that's officially rated for hazardous dust, it's just not worth the risk or the cost of replacing tools.

I was at the antique market in Springfield last weekend and saw a guy selling a box of 'untested' Polaroid SX-70s for $50 each.

Used to think "untested" was always a scam too. Then I bought a Polaroid Sun 600 listed that way. Thing was filthy, batteries were toast. Gave the contacts a scrub with some vinegar, popped in new batteries. Fired right up. Now I see it as a gamble, but sometimes you win.

Heard a contractor say 'paint hides nothing' while I was at the hardware store

Guess my ceiling's a topographical map of my many regrets.

I used to think a home inspection was just a basic check, but after our inspector in Tampa found $8,000 in hidden water damage, I now treat it like the most important appointment.

Honestly, that sounds like fear selling. Most inspectors just create a huge list of minor problems to justify their fee. The serious issues are usually obvious to anyone with a basic eye for detail.

I read that a single worm bin can eat a pound of scraps a week

Forget tracking, just toss in your scraps and see what happens lol.
