inGifting my own kombucha to a neighbor led to an awkward moment
Seriously, she got spooked by the SCOBY? That's honestly surprising to me. In my experience, it always looks strange floating in there, but it's just the culture doing its thing. I've given my kombucha to people before and had to say it's not gone bad, it's supposed to look like that. Your mileage may vary, but most folks come around once you explain it's alive and healthy. It's a common mix-up for anyone new to fermented drinks. Good on you for turning it into a chat, though.

inParking tickets are now a freelance hazard in my town center
But what if the parking rules are actually too loose? I've seen cars block fire hydrants for hours because nobody checks. Or that one guy who parks his work van in a two-hour spot all week, taking turns from actual customers. Sometimes you need someone walking around with a ticket pad just to keep basic order. A few tickets might be the only thing stopping total chaos.

inA Goose Tried to Steal My Brisket During the Town Cook-Off
Honestly @miaa41, I'd call that desperate, not bold. If they were really brave they'd go after the person who made the sandwich, not just run off with it.
