Producer asked for 4K then delivered 720p and blamed my screen
Last Friday I reviewed a cut from a mid-size outfit in Austin. Spotted soft focus on every wide shot. Checked the file properties. It was 720p upscaled. I called the producer and she said my monitor needed calibration. No, the pixel count was right there. Charged me $8,500 for 3 days of shooting and they never checked their own export settings. I've edited for 11 years and this is the third time a company tried to gaslight me over resolution. How do you all handle delivery specs when the vendor won't own their mistake? Anyone else get burned on the codec side too?
