Trader Joe's pre-cut veggies have taken over my neighborhood fridge
Last Tuesday I stopped at the new Trader Joe's on Lombard Street and watched three people grab bags of chopped onions and peppers without blinking. One woman told me she buys them because she hates cutting, but those bags turn slimy in about 48 hours if you don't use them fast. I think we've lost the habit of buying one whole onion and using every last slice across the week. My own trick is to chop a full onion on Sunday and freeze the extra in a small jar, it lasts two weeks and costs about 60 cents. Has anyone else gone back to whole produce after wasting too many pre-cut bags?
