Appreciation post: A bandana solved my map problem on Cedar Ridge

Got caught in a surprise rainstorm halfway through the Cedar Ridge loop. My paper trail map was soaking wet and falling apart. I had a plain bandana in my pack, so I wrapped the map in it. That kept it dry enough to read the key turns. Now I never hike without one, it's that simple.

My bandana is basically a backup sweat towel that sometimes remembers it's a map protector!

Get it, @derek935. Bandanas are the best for sweat. I use mine all the time when I'm working outside. They don't get heavy like some towels do. You can just shake them out and they're good to go. I've tried other things but always come back to bandanas. Really can't beat them for that.
