I finally sorted out the weird vibration in my excavator's cab

In my experience, tightening a few loose mounting bolts made it smooth again, but your mileage may vary.

My buddy Mike had the EXACT same vibration in his excavator cab last year. He checked all the mounting bolts first, like you said, but they were already tight. Then his mechanic found a small crack in the frame right under the cab seat. They had to weld it up, which took a whole afternoon, but the vibration COMPLETELY went away. Mike said it felt like driving a new machine after that. It just shows you gotta look beyond the obvious sometimes.

Man, that's so true. It's crazy how one tiny hidden crack can shake the whole cab like that. I've seen the same thing happen with loose hydraulic lines that are barely touching the frame, just a little buzz that gets worse over time. Sometimes it's even a worn bushing in the cab tilt mount you'd never spot unless you're really digging. Fixing those little things really does make it feel like a whole new machine.
