Rant: A client in her 70s told me she's been using the same $3.99 shampoo for 50 years and her hair is perfect.
It made me question all the expensive products we push and wonder if technique and consistency matter more than the bottle's price tag, so what's the most basic product you've seen work wonders?

Remember that old bar of Ivory soap? My grandpa washed his hair with it every day and had a full head of white hair into his nineties. Makes you wonder if we're just buying fancy solutions for problems we created.

You're onto something with that Ivory soap story, @david_fisher37. My grandma used the same plain soap for her face and never had any issues, while my sister's ten-step skincare routine often causes more breakouts. It really seems like a lot of modern products just fix the irritation caused by other ones we use.
