Watching a band's stage setup at a tiny bar in Asheville completely flipped my approach to negative space.
I saw how they used the empty floor between amps and the singer to build this crazy tension, and now I leave way more breathing room in my layouts, but does anyone else find that clients always want to fill every single pixel?

That tension is the whole point, but clients see empty space as wasted real estate. You have to show them how that quiet spot makes the loud parts hit harder. It's like convincing someone to let the soup simmer instead of just throwing everything in the pot.

See this with music all the time, too.
