PSA: Heard a guy at the supply house say tempered glass can't be cut

I was picking up a load of 1/4" clear in Cleveland last week and overheard a new guy telling his helper that once glass is tempered, you can't touch it with a cutter. That's just wrong. You absolutely can cut it, but you have to do it before the tempering oven. It's a basic fact, and hearing it messed up in the wild made me realize how much bad info gets passed around. How many of you have had to correct a client who got wrong advice from another shop?
