PSA: Don't cheap out on the glass for a big commercial storefront job

I lost about $800 in labor and materials because I tried to save $150 on a cheaper grade of tempered glass for a restaurant window. It arrived with a slight bow that made the install a nightmare and the customer refused it. What's your go-to supplier for flat, reliable commercial glass?

Honestly, the real cost is your reputation with that customer. They don't care why the glass is bowed, they just see a bad install. I'd rather eat the whole cost myself than have that conversation again.

But what if you explain it right? Like, show them the spec sheet that says a tiny bow is normal for that size of glass. Some customers actually get it if you're straight with them. I've had people thank me for being honest about a factory flaw instead of just swapping it and eating the cost. It builds more trust than just pretending nothing ever goes wrong.
