I tried using that new UV-cure sealant on a big storefront job in Tacoma last week and it set up way too fast.

The rep said it gave you a good 5 minute working time, but in the direct sun, it was tacky in maybe 90 seconds. Had to scrape off a whole panel and start over. Ended up mixing it in the shade and applying in small sections, which worked but slowed us down. Anyone else run into this with the newer fast-cure stuff? What's your workaround for hot days?

Ugh, those reps never work with the stuff in the field. Direct sun cuts the working time in half, easy. On hot days, we mix small batches and keep the jug in a cooler with ice packs. Applying in the shade is the right move, even if it's slower. A helper to mix while you trowel can save your butt. We also wet the surface down right before application, it buys you a few extra seconds.

YES exactly, the cooler trick is a lifesaver. We started using those insulated lunch bags for the small buckets, just toss a couple ice packs in there. And wetting the surface first is non-negotiable in this heat, it stops the material from sucking all the moisture out instantly.
