Watching a demo at the Corning Museum made me rethink my color mixing

I always just eyeballed my color powders and hoped for the best. At a workshop there last month, the instructor weighed every single batch on a tiny scale. She said being off by even half a gram could make the whole piece fire wrong. I tried it back in my studio and my yellows are finally coming out clean instead of muddy. Anyone else measure their color that precisely?

Wow, that's wild! What kind of scale did you end up getting?

Just curious, @max_foster, did you go for a smart scale or a basic one? The data from smart ones can be useful but sometimes it's just extra noise. I'm trying to decide if the features are worth the cost.

Notice we often buy tools for data we never actually use.
