Warning: don't trust the 'auto' setting on that new smart plug
I plugged a small space heater into one, and it kept cycling on and off every 30 seconds... the app said it was 'optimizing for efficiency' but it was just making the heater useless. Anyone know a plug that actually handles high-wattage appliances properly?

My Kasa plug handled a 1500W heater fine.

That Kasa plug is rated for 15 amps, which is the standard for most home outlets. Honestly, charliew99, if the plug is working fine with that load, it's probably not a huge deal for a short time. People get really worried about these ratings, but they have a safety buffer built in. I'd just keep an eye on it and make sure the plug doesn't feel warm.
