Question about a client who ghosted after a $500 deposit

I was in the middle of a logo project for a brewery in Austin when the client stopped answering emails, so I sent a final invoice for the work done and used the deposit as a kill fee, which my contract allowed.

Did you send the final invoice through the same email chain where they went quiet, or did you try a different method like a text or a call to make sure they actually saw it?

Three days after the email went quiet, I sent a follow-up text. People often miss emails but they almost always see a text. It got a reply within an hour.
