Just spent $300 on a proper contract template and it saved me from a bad client.

I took on a website project for a local bakery last month. The owner kept adding small changes and asking for extra pages without paying more. I pulled out the contract I bought from a freelance lawyer site. It clearly said scope changes needed a new agreement. I showed her the line and she backed down immediately. Has anyone else had a contract save them from scope creep?

My cousin runs a small print shop and deals with picky customers all the time. He just talks it out with them, no fancy paperwork. A $300 template for a bakery website seems like overkill. Couldn't you just have a conversation and say no to the extra pages? Most people are reasonable if you explain your time has value. I feel like contracts make things hostile from the start.

Honestly, that's how it goes with everything now. People just assume they can keep asking for more unless you have a clear line.
