Just realized the best freebie I ever got was a stack of moving boxes from a guy in my apartment building last month.
He saw me struggling with a busted grocery bag and said, 'Take these, my wife will kill me if I bring one more box upstairs,' which saved me about $40 on supplies.

I always thought the best free stuff had to be fancy, like a coffee shop sample. Then my neighbor Frank gave me his old lawnmower last summer. He just said it was taking up space in his garage. That thing ran for three more years and saved me from buying a new one. It made me see free stuff totally different.
