My patio table was rocking, so I packed some green sand around the base
The legs kept sinking into the dirt after rain. Had a bag of green sand leftover from casting at home. Damped it down and tamped it firm under each foot. Now the table sits level and doesn't move when you lean on it.

Clever solution. Green sand has that clay binder so it sets up almost like concrete when you tamp it down. Regular play sand lacks any stickiness and just washes away. Lisa's experience with the gritty puddle shows exactly why your method works better. I keep a bag of coarse builder's sand for jobs like this because it drains well but still compacts. You fixed it with what was available, which is always the best way.

Ha! I tried leveling a wobbly chair with regular play sand last year. Made a huge soupy mess that just washed away. Your green sand trick is way smarter than my sad, gritty puddle.
