Just found out my cheap knock-off pouring shank cost me a full crucible
I mean, I lost about $400 in metal and a whole morning's work because the threads gave out halfway through a pour. Anyone know a good brand for 6061 aluminum work that won't fail like that?

$400 in metal" is a brutal loss for a morning's work!

My last big loss was a whole spool of copper wire that rolled into a storm drain. That was a solid $150 gone in five seconds. So @the_logan, I feel that $400 pain deep in my soul. It's the kind of mistake that makes you just sit in your truck for ten minutes, staring at nothing. You start doing the math on how many jobs it takes to make up for one dumb move. Really makes you question all your life choices before lunch.
